Oval track coming soon
On the way to have our own Oval-Track
A lot to do always... horses, sheeps, kids....... And now we are making us a oval track
What we very much look forward to try out one good day.

Our Breedingmare got awarded
Now at this time one year ago we where among 10 other farms nominated as breeders of the year... We got that honor to be awarded as “Breeders Of the year in IcELAnd” 2014.We showed many breeding horses this year but not many from our own breeding. We showed three and was one of them awarded yesterday for being the highest 4 year old mare (Garún f. Garðshorni á Þelamörk) in our region by HEÞ (Hrossaræktarsamband Eyfirðinga- og Þingeyinga) the other one (Vissa f.Lambanesi) was also high judged but not born in this region, we where breeding in the west at the time she was born.
All together that four year old mare, Garún is among the highest three 4 year old mares that where showed this year in Iceland. To be able to be awarded breeder of the year in iceland you need to show at least 4 horses.. Maybe another day
We planed to put Garún to stallion but it didn´t work this time so she will be taken in for training around desember/januar and will probably be showed again.Sheep Festival in the East
Last weekend we went to the east to sheep Festival last weekend. It was a great weekend with great people. There we brought two sheeps with us back home from Jói & Fjóla á Gunnarsstöðum to get new good blood into our herd.Stallions used & sold
We brought some breeding mares to interesting stallions this year. We used Hersir f.Lambanesi, Skýr f.Skálakoti, Erill f.Einhamri & Jarl f.Höskuldsstöðum for example.
This Handsome Stallion jarl f.Höskuldsstöðum is one of the stallion we used this year for our highest judged mare (Vissa). We sold Jarl newly to Germany & wish new owner all the best with this great horse in the future....
Horse round-up
Laufskálarétt is horse-round up located in Skagafjörður. We went there not long time ago and bought our self a breeding mare from my cousin Jón í Neðri-Ási, that is actually where I (Birna) bought my first mare I planed to put into breeding
Great tour we went over there. We got one breeding mare, foal & a foal in the stomach of the breeding mare & had a great day & evening there. Always fun to do such unexpected things
